Retaining Rings are installed into machined grooves in housings/bores (internal) or on shafts (external). External applications secure parts on a grooved shaft, pin or stud and are measured by Shaft Diameter. Internal rings maintain constant pressure against axles, gears & bearings to prevent slipage and are measured by Bore Diameter. Rings have lug holes, used to install & remove Rings with a specialty Snap Ring Plier designed for this purpose.
